The NSW public sector is working to reflect the full diversity of the community in its workforce. The sector needs to include and support individuals who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, questioning/queer (LGBTIQ+).

An LGBTIQ+ inclusive workplace allows employees to feel valued, safe, and respected.  It provides them with access to the same freedoms and opportunities as everyone else, without exception. Creating a workplace where employees bring their whole and true selves to work leads to increased job satisfaction and productivity.

The NSW Secretaries Board approved the creation of a whole of sector LGBTIQ+ network to help provide an inclusive place for LGBTIQ+ staff to work and prosper.
