Sponsorship Guidance Toolkit

This sponsorship toolkit provides guidance for developing sponsorship programs for culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) employees. It is informed by ‘Elevate and Advocate’, the successful sector-wide CALD sponsorship program delivered by the Office of the Public Service Commissioner (OPSC) in partnership with MindTribes. MindTribes also worked with the OPSC to develop this toolkit.

This toolkit was developed in response to feedback from the NSW public sector highlighting the ongoing need for sponsorship programs, following the conclusion of ‘Elevate & Advocate’. It supports efforts to ensure public sector senior leadership reflects the diversity of the broader NSW community.

While this toolkit focuses on sponsorship programs for CALD employees, the lessons in it can be applied to sponsorship programs for other diversity groups.

For consistency with our sponsorship program, the term ‘CALD’ is used in this toolkit. However, we note that cultural diversity is not a monolith. We recognise the ongoing discussion about terminology, including the term culturally and racially marginalised.
