Diversity and inclusion

Our goal in the NSW public sector is to attract and retain the right people for the right jobs, no matter what their gender, race, age, religious beliefs, or personal commitments. This means that we are embedding diversity and inclusion in everything we do.

We are working towards the Premier’s Priority of having 5.6% of government sector roles held by people with disability by 2025.

This section is a dedicated disability employment resource to:

  • help managers become disability confident
  • inform employees with disability
  • create a knowledge hub
  • showcase best practice examples
  • share useful content from sources outside of the PSC.

Flexible working

The NSW Government has committed to making all roles flexible in the NSW government sector on the basis of ‘if not, why not’ by 2019.

NSW government sector agencies have a responsibility to provide work environments that are safe, ethical, inclusive and productive. Leaders, managers and employees have a shared obligation to create and maintain a positive workplace environment.

The conduct and management of all government sector workplaces must meet the core values of the government sector.
