Flexible working resources

In Australia, flexibility has its roots in gender equality, and in particular a strategy to enable women to return to work after maternity leave. This legacy has shaped workplaces practices and the research that underpins our understanding of the flexible work landscape. The PSC has drawn on a range of research and guidance from the Workplace Gender Equality Agency and the Diversity Council of Australia to inform our approach, much of which can be found below.
