To create positive workplaces in the NSW public sector, it is vital to foster inclusive environments that support all employees, including those who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or intersex (LGBTI).
We are building a diverse workforce to reflect the community, with around 11 in 100 Australians identifying as having a diverse sexual orientation, sex or gender identity.
We want our people across the NSW public sector to feel comfortable and secure enough to bring their whole selves to work, without inhibition.
LGBTI inclusion means making sure that all our employees are valued and respected, and have access to the same freedoms and opportunities as everyone else – without exception. Being able to bring our true selves to work leads to increased job satisfaction and increased productivity.
The Public Service Commission is a proud member of Pride and Diversity, a not-for-profit employer support program specifically designed to assist employers with all aspects of LGBTI inclusion.
