How to use this module

Welcome to a Disability Awareness module developed by the NSW Public Service Commission for public sector employees.

It should take you approximately 20 minutes to complete, but you can work at your own pace and exit the module at any time. When you return to the module, you'll be able to continue from where you left off.

As you progress through this module, you'll experience a few different kinds of interactions, but every page has the same basic structure.

Please note: you can also interact with these pages by using the TAB and arrow keys, then clicking 'Enter' to select.

Click each tab to learn more about the content of a typical screen, then click the 'Next' button to get the module started with a short video of the people you will meet along the way.

Check the prompts

At the bottom-left of the page (just below the heading and default text), there is a symbol with some bold text. This is the prompt, which tells you what to do next.

Use the menu bar

Clicking on the menu bar reveals the following icons:

Size enables you to change the text size, to make it easier to read.

Exit closes the module. You will be asked to confirm that you wish to exit. When you return, you’ll continue from where you left off.

Home returns you to the home page, from where you can access the various topics of the module. If you haven’t yet completed a topic, you’ll be able to continue from where you left off.

The Resources menu launches all the online resources referred to in this module. They are numbered for convenience.

The Menu option closes or opens this menu bar.

How to navigate

Back button and Next button

This area is used for navigating between the pages. Use the back arrow to return the previous page or the 'Next' button to advance.

On some pages, you won't be able to click the 'Next' button until you’ve engaged in some sort of interaction.
